New OnePlus 6T price and release date leak hints at matte black version exclusivity
Thanks to a popular cell phone retailer in the UK, we now know the retail price of the OnePlus 6T there, as well as the release date. The listings have been pulled down, but eagle-eyed reporters have managed to take a screenshot or two.
The OnePlus 6T will start from £499 when it goes on sale November 6th, and that price is thirty quid more than the £469 tag of the OnePlus 6. To compensate, however, OnePlus has doubled the basic storage amount from 64GB to 128GB. That alone are worth the price increase, considering what some other manufacturers charge for their upper memory tiers.
If you want a RAM amount increase from 6GB to 8GB, you'd have to pay £529, while the top--shelf 8GB/256GB version of the OnePlus 6T will go for £579, making it the most expensive OnePlus ever. Expect that top-end 256GB storage model to pierce through the $600 barrier in the US, as price differentials go, but that would still be rather palatable considering similarly-specc'd alternatives.
Finally, the listings have the matte Midnight Black finish only available for most expensive 256GB model, while the rest get the shiny Purple and Mirror Black editions. It's not clear if that same color scheme will be available in the US as well, but the rumors that the 6T will land as the most expensive OnePlus phone in the company's short history, seem to hold water.
