The LG G8 ThinQ goes on sale April 11 in the US with big launch discounts
One month after the LG G8 ThinQ was first introduced, LG has today announced that its latest flagship smartphone will hit US stores and carriers starting April 11. And, for a limited time, it’ll be offering big discounts.
At launch, the LG G8 ThinQ will be available in Carmine Red, New Aurora Black, and New Platinum Gray and will retail at $819.99 as standard. However, as part of a limited time promotion, the South Korean brand will be offering discounts of up to $150 depending on the retailer or carrier. Speaking of which, the flagship will be available to purchase at AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile. Best Buy and B&H will also offer the smartphone.
The LG G8 ThinQ, for those of you that don’t know, offers a large 6.1-inch OLED display paired with a slight chin and a wide notch which is home to an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. Also present is a Time-of-Flight camera that adds 3D Face Unlock and LG’s new Hand ID security feature.
The smartphone also includes support for a variety of Air Motion touchless gestures which allow the device to be controlled without actually touching it. Additionally, new Sound-in-Display technology removes the need for an in-ear speaker by instead using vibrations combined with bone conduction to produce sound.
Aside from all of this, the LG G8 ThinQ boasts Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 coupled with a respectable 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, thus making the device a worthy Galaxy S10e and iPhone XR competitor.
Consumers can also expect a 12-megapixel rear camera and a second 16-megapixel wide-angle camera, Android 9 Pie straight out of the box, and a 3,500mAh battery.
