Facebook partners with WHO to release stickers for World Mental Health Day
In honor of World Mental Health Day, Facebook announced a special sticker pack called “Let’s Talk” for Messenger. The social network collaborated with the World Health Organization and mentioned its goal to “help people have important conversations about mental health.”
A recent survey conducted by Messenger found that 80% of people found it easier to be honest through private messages. Thus, Facebook stated its intent to make Messenger give and receive support to promote mental health.
The sticker pack, which can be downloaded today, includes messages like “listening”, “talk to me”, and “you are not alone”, which Facebook hopes will promote communication and support. These stickers can be used in private messages with friends and family.
A matching camera filter pack was also announced. These filters, which can be used with Messenger Stories, are meant to make it easier to start conversations and ask for support.
In conjunction with these releases, Facebook has also pledged to donate $1 each time the new stickers are used, up to $1 million USD. The donations will go to 10 mental health organizations, including The Jed Foundation and Save.org.
