Energizer to unveil new phone with a massive 18000mAh battery

Energizer is planning on showing off 26 new smartphone models at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to be held in Barcelona later this month. According to GSMArena (via 9to5Google), the company will be debuting a new line called Energizer Ultimate that will feature six premium handsets including a foldable model; some of the devices in this range will sport a pop up camera.

One of the new phones in the Ultimate line will be the Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop. The model features a 6.2-inch FHD+ resolution screen and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. 6GB of RAM is inside along with 128GB of storage. On back is a triple-sensor setup with a 16MP primary camera, 5MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button, and a 3200mAh battery keeps the lights on.

The largest screened Energizer model that will be displayed at MWC is the Ultimate U650S. This unit carries a 6.5-inch display (only HD+ resolution, though) and the Helio P22 SoC under the hood. 4GB of RAM is included and there is 128GB of internal storage inside. A 3500mAh battery powers this device.

As you might expect from a battery manufacturer, one new phone is expected to feature a whopping 18000mAh capacity battery inside. During last year's MWC show, the company unveiled the Energizer Power Max P16K Pro, which carries a 16000mAh battery. Only a limited number of units were produced, and Energizer says that it did make some sales of the handset.

Thus far, Energizer phones have had a very limited distribution and were not marketed in the U.S. If Energizer plans on capitalizing on its well known brand name to sell its phones in the states, we're sure to hear something at MWC. The trade show runs from February 25th-28th.
