Best Buy, Amazon have the Huawei Watch 2 Classic on sale for $179.99

When the Huawei Watch 2 Classic was first launched back in early 2017, we gave the smartwatch a 7 out of 10 in our review (see it by clicking on this link). The Wear OS powered wearable includes a heart rate monitor and GPS capabilities that can be accessed without using your phone. Besides tracking your workout, the watch will also give you coaching hints. Other features include Google Assistant, sleep tracking and NFC support. The latter allows the watch to be used for mobile payments at the register.

Best Buy and Amazon are both offering the Huawei Watch 2 Classic for $179.99. That is a $48 discount (21%) from Amazon's usual price, and $190 off (51%) the MSRP. Best Buy normally sells the device for $299.99 and at $179.99, you're saving $120 or 40%. In addition, those purchasing the watch from Best Buy receive a free 10-week subscription to Google Play Music.

The Huawei Watch 2 Classic sports a 1.2-inch AMOLED display carrying a 390 x 390 resolution. Under the dial is a Snapdragon 2100 chipset featuring a quad-core CPU running at 1.1GHz. 768MB of RAM is inside, along with 4GB of native storage (2.3GB available to users). A 420mAh battery keeps the lights on, and provides up to 48-hours of power; with an IP68 certification rating, the timepiece can be submerged in up to nearly 5-feet of water for as long as 30-minutes, and emerge unscathed.

The Huawei Watch 2 Classic does not include LTE connectivity. For that, you will need to purchase the Huawei Watch 2 Sport.
