Apple's iPhone XR has been the best-selling iPhone since its release
Despite its higher price, Apple previously revealed that last year’s iPhone X became its best-selling iPhone as soon as it was released. This year, though, it appears consumers are favoring the brand’s cheaper model.
Speaking to CNET earlier today, Apple’s Vice President of Product Marketing, Greg Joswiak, announced that the iPhone XR is currently the best-selling iPhone and has been the most popular model “every day since it became available.” This ultimately means that, in terms of distribution, Apple’s devices are shipping according to expectations – analysts have pointed towards the iPhone XR being the best-selling device for quite some time now.
Recently it was reported that Apple’s iPhone sales may be lower than expected – the company is said to have cut production orders twice. Unfortunately, and rather unsurprisingly, Joswiak declined to comment on the reports or iPhone demand in general.
In other news, the executive also made mention of Apple’s commitment to the Product RED initiative. World AIDS Day is currently set to take place this Saturday and, in honor of the day, the company will donate $1 for every Apple Pay purchase made between December 1 and December 7 at the Apple Store. This includes those made at physical locations, online, or through the app. Moreover, 125 Apple Store will be turning their logos red.
