Another day, another Huawei Mate 20 Lite leak - this time, in three colors
In many ways, Huawei can be considered a trailblazer and major forward thinker, reportedly looking to integrate both in-display fingerprint scanning and 3D facial recognition technology into the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro after already releasing the world’s first (and only) smartphone with three rear-facing cameras.
But although Samsung continues to resist the Apple-started notch trend, and a few other companies seem undecided whether to fully embrace this divisive design or not, Huawei has no problem putting a screen cutout on the Mate 20 Lite in addition to the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, not to mention the P20, P20 Pro, and P20 Lite.
That’s a lot of iPhone X copycat work, and the fast-approaching Huawei Mate 20 Lite appears to include an almost as wide notch as Apple’s Face ID-enabled model. It’s a bit of a stretch to think a “Lite” handset could ever come with 3D sensing capabilities, but if it makes you feel any better, you’re definitely looking at dual front-facing shooters, as well as dual cams around the back.
If you’re lucky to live in a region targeted by Huawei for official Mate 20 Lite availability, i.e. most of Europe and Asia, you’ll apparently get three paint jobs to choose from. A freshly “ev-leaked” render shares the spotlight between black, blue and gold models, all of which will apparently feature a small black “chin.”
There’s no longer room for a company logo below the massive 6.3-inch or so display, with a circular fingerprint sensor situated in the vicinity of a centered “dual lens” system on the phone’s rear. All in all, this is certainly a handsome device... if you can ignore the enlarged notch.
