Where do I start?
hi guys, sorry if this is a dumb question but i don't really know where to start. like i have no good trackers to trade with and i don't want to pay for trackers either. so how do i get started with this whole private tracker thing? i already know i want what.cd for sure since that's apparently the best music tracker, but its also the hardest to get.
any advice for a noob chick?
thanks

1) Some trackers Do open their doors so stay sharp ( i.e pixelhd - search the forum and make an application )
2 ) You gotta have some luck ( members offer free invites from time to time )
3 ) Start with low lvl trackers if you don't intend on buying.
4 ) Although you don't like it, try to buy ( what's 2 euro for a bitme invite ? ) + some people are really in a need of cash so they can sell ultra cheap.
5 ) You can get more if you use your charms @girl

from one chic to another keep your eyes open on the open trackers thread and sign up fast....and then try get on iptorrents that is one of the best 0 day trackers and you will get pretty much all you need there its a invite site but im sure someone will help you with a invite its easy enough to get on and invites are always being given away here....if i had one would send you it but gave my last one away few days ago...
so best of luck

If you're completely new it's always a good idea to start with trackers where it is easy to maintain ratios - like MyAnonamouse, for instance. If you make What.cd your first tracker you'll definitely it EXTREMELY difficult to maintain ratios since it is already a hard to seed tracker and having no experience makes it worse. Basically, don't get into difficult to seed trackers until you are sure you can maintain ratios at easier to seed. Take the time to learn about the torrent world, and you can always ask questions here.
And about getting into trackers, like many already said first check for open sign-ups, then the giveaway section. Some sites have applications you can fill out e.g. PixelHD and some have IRC interviews for new members e.g. What.cd. But the trackers take the applications/interviews quite seriously so I suggest you take some time to learn about the torrent tracker world before applying anywhere - SPECIALLY before applying at what.cd.
Good luck!

thank you for all the helpful replies!! guess this is like a job, start from the bottom and work your way up, lol. i read about keeping a ratio on what.cd is hard but i have a lot of rare cds (thanks to my parents!) that i figured i could upload.
i'll definitely keep an eye out for open sign ups and the like.
thanks again you guys. you are all so nice!

If you have rare content that's already not there on What.cd then you'll have no problems, but still you should try out lower level trackers first.

To upload on what.cd is very hard, and even harder if you are new to this world.
The standard of rips that uploaders must do is very high but there are some good tutorials on how to do this, my advice for you would also be start off small then gather some pace.
Get use to everything about private trackers and start learning how to upload to the high standard that what.cd requires so you will be ready when you finally get in.
