I used to be a member of tehconnection and my account was inactive due to having a baby. Now I have more time, I wanted to reactivate my account. When I log into the IRC chat, I get a message that I have been banned. I often connect via a VPN, so I'm wondering if this is the reason for the ban from IRC? Anyone have any more information about this sort of situation?

My guess is that you logged into IRC with a different IP to the one you log into your account. Maybe switch off the VPN and see if you are getting the same messages.

It's most likely due to the VPN.

Its due to VPN.
You need to login to site from your home ip.
So your account got banned due to VPN and not due to inactivity.
Also teh bans banned users from every channel of irc.

Next time take care of it.

So I happened to get disabled as well last night, I'm thinking its got something to do with my seedbox..

Do we have to let staff know what our seedbox IP is?

It is advised to read each tracker's rules first.
Some of them insist or mention seedbox IP on profile.
Some others just want to mention on profile that we are using a seedbox.
And some want to PM a staff member our IP, or that we are using a seedbox.
Anyway, when I join a new tracker and not see any of the above, I always inform staff about my seedbox, so to be safe.

I did try going into #TC.Support which is where I was banned from. I can try not using my VPN and see if I'm still banned from the channel.

The problem with logging in from my 'home i.p.' is I move often and the last time I logged in I was in a different location so I wont have my home ip no matter where I go.
