How to speed up ftp download AND how to bulk download from https? When I try to download a folder from https with seedboxes.cc it just opens the folder and I have to download each one. Takes ages. Various suggestions on how to speed up this process is much appreciated.

You should use Filezilla or any other ftp-client instead. Use sftp so the connection is encrypted and a VPN for extra security.

use ftp client that supports multi-part (segmented) download. like CuteFTP, SMartFTP.

Make sure you have tested a providers speed before purchasing a seedbox. Many now offer that or I would ask as most should not hesitate to provide it. I have 3 boxes from 3 providers out of 7-8 I looked into. They all max my home speed where the other ones did not.
