I am on a pretty fast connection and even if I am the first one to upload a torrent to a site I hardly come close to my upload speed limits. One person suggested running multiple torrent clients. Has any one tried that? Is there another way? I currently use Qtorrent and I dont think it will allow me to run more then one at a time, is there a better torrent client?

@Rud3dog, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. With most private tracker sites you are competing against seedboxes of 1GB+ connections, thus it would be difficult to win those speeds unless if you have a similar connection, it also depends on the tracker you use, as this has impact on the content that is being downloaded. - If I want to boost my ratio quickly, what I do is to get a seedbox for 30 days, and get myself a one month VIP with the tracker, this usually allows you to do H&R. Thus, as new content is being released, I add it to my seedbox and seed it for 3 days, and repeating this method over 10 days, you could easily get 10TB+ upload, but bearing in mind that some seedboxes only allow up to 2TB of seeding.
Make use of port forwarding as it can give you an edge over other seeders by allowing fresh peers to connect to you even when the tracker hadn't had the time announce them to your client yet.

To answer Spider crawler first. I have a port open and forwarded through my router and I am connectable. I couldnt fins any more information about opening any other ports besides the one used for incoming connections.
Zy123: PC wired of course. I can max out my speed on occasions but most servers dont have the ability or choose not to max my line out. I can get 950 mbit down from usenet, 600-700 mbit off steam, and its a mixed bag every where eles. IF its a paid premium service the offers download I can get my full gigabit down. I made a ftp a year ago and was able to support around 10 connections totaling 940 mbit avg. I know I have the speed and latency (1-2ms ) but I dont understand enough on how torrent clients change there speed to allow more upload. There was a big release not long ago and I was a uploader for the tracker on 2 sites and supported 3 others with there tracker and I was uploading at roughly 600 mbits which was still great but it took that many connections and sites to even use it.
I wish I had more knowledge of how a torrent shares data and more importanty how this process is changing when you make a upload setting in it.
I tried to use a new client to see if that would help (using qbittorent) called BiglyBT but when I migrated my tracker files it started telling me my files were bad when they were not and re-downloading duplicates of files I already had. Now that was a mess. So far the only conclusion I could get from biglybt was maybe the trackers from qbittorrent were not compatible?
I am still wanting to figure out a way to use more of my upload that I know I have.
When you want to migrate from one client to another you need to point the seconed client (BiglyBT in your case) to the original location of each torrent. If you have torrents that are still in progress, you need to ensure that neither client is appending any custom extensions ( e.g. .ut or .qt ) as that would cause the other client not to recognize those files.Quote:

From my own testing I noticed that Qbittorrent is not as fast or as consistent as Transmission or uTorrent despite the fact that it has double the maximum number of connections as compared to the other two (500 vs ~250).
Just idea. if you're on Windows you can try to use uTorrent. Recommend older version 2.2.1. If you're on Linux, the best way is to use rTorrent or Deluge. But I understand you, Have gigabit at home too and my speeds are about 50%. But if I download/seed to people from my country, speeds are 100% :)
