I try to download from pirate bay or kickass with u-torrent 2.2.1 and no seeds show up on download there are seeds and leaches on the site just not showing in u torrent just says downloading (0) seeds no problem with IP Torrents or some of the others I use

Not really the place to discuss open trackers but you should check your uT settings and make sure DHT and peer exchange is enabled. No idea what the status of KAT and TPB is nowadays though.
