    Question Changing IP-Address by restarting router?

    Hey there,
    I got banned for being invited from a trading forum (too many invites in a short period of time by the inviter).

    If I restart my router, will I be able to make a new account at that tracker, or am I fu**ed now?

    Will they be able to recognize me from my home forever?

    Thanks!

    Check if your IP address changed by entering http://www.whatsmyip.org/

    If it changed, you are free to create a new account.
    It was many and many a year ago,
    In a kingdom by the sea,
    That a maiden there lived whom you may know
    By the name of Annabel Lee;
    And this maiden she lived with no other thought
    Than to love and be loved by me.

    I'm always against rejoining a tracker if you've been banned....

    But a new IP and laying low for a while (download, don't interact unless you have to) will probably keep you off their radar.

    Oh I forgot some ISP will change your IP if you contact them rather than resetting the router

    Don't forget to delete your cookies and change all your info (email, username etc.). You'd better access the site through a different browser from now on.
    Of course there's no guarantee that you won't be caught sooner or later, especially on higher-level trackers.

    I absolutely hate that I got banned at a tracker, but I don't see how I did anything wrong here.
    I played by the rules, but they detected that I was invited by a trader.

    @jimmy7

    How could that happen?

    Thank you all a lot for your responses!

    Unfortunately that's how trackers work.. if you are on the invite tree of a suspected trader then you'll get banned too especially given it's against rules to be invited through invite forums

    You'll be safe if its not a cabal tracker - one of the Holy Trinity.

    They just don't care. Even if you were the site's most valuable member, they still wouldn't mind. Your inviter was marked as a trader and that's the end of it.
    At the end of the day, it's their home, their rules. Nothing you can do about it.

    Jesus, the support on this site is amazing, thanks!

    "Of course there's no guarantee that you won't be caught sooner or later, especially on higher-level trackers."

    I just wonder how they could do it on a technical level if my IP changed?

    Sites don't log only your IP's, they also store various details about your internet connection, your computer itself (some specifications for example) or even your browser (like what extentions you have installed for instance). All these things together form a unique "footprint" sort of speak, through which they can identify you if they suspect you of something.
