Her last release was 'Pop 2'

Charli XCX is teasing fans about a new album after sharing her new year’s resolutions on Twitter.

The singer last released mixtape ‘Pop 2’ – the follow-up to her first mixtape ‘Number 1 Angel’. Her last full-length release was 2014’s ‘Sucker’.

Now after a string of singles, it looks like the pop star is ready to release her third full-length album. Sharing a photo of her new year’s resolutions, the list contains just two points: make an album and release it. “About time, right??” she added. See that tweet below.

Speaking of her last album, the pop star revealed that some parts of the record “feel fake” to her, now she’s had time to reflect.

The album followed the artist’s massive 2014 hit with Iggy Azalea, ‘Fancy’. The song topped the charts in America for 7 weeks.

Charli XCX suggests that due to her chart success, she wrote material to conform to a more commercial audience. “It was definitely a confusing experience, after Fancy, when things didn’t really go my way,” she told The Guardian. I didn’t become, like, this huge big artist or whatever. That was definitely hard at points for sure.”

Back in November, Charli XCX guested on the Clean Bandit collaboration with Bhad Bhabie, ‘Barbie Style’. A month earlier, she and Aussie pop star Troye Sivan unveiled a mammoth throwback to the ’90s with the video for their new collaboration, ‘1999’.

Last summer, Charli XCX joined Taylor Swift on tour. “The Taylor shows have been really great, but it’s a different beast… I’m not a pristine pop performer,” she said. “I’m born to play in club environments, rave environments.”
