Iggy Pop will duet with Shatner on 'Silent Night'

William Shatner will release his very first Christmas album, ‘Shatner Claus – The Christmas Album’, in October.

First announced last month, it’s only now been revealed that a wide range of stars have been brought in to collaborate on the album, including Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, ZZ Top’sBilly Gibbons, Judy Collins and more.

Iggy Pop will feature on a duet of ‘Silent Night’, while Henry Rollins has collaborated with Shatner on a version of ‘Jingle Bells’.

The album, set for release on October 26, is the third release from Cleopatra Records after Shatner released a David Bowie covers album, ‘Seeking Major Tom’, in 2011 and a prog-rock concept album, ‘Ponder the Mystery’, in 2013.

Shatner’s most recent album, ‘Why Not Me?’ a country collaboration with Alabama’s Jeff Cook, was released in August.

Also in August, Shatner joined the call for Carrie Fisher to gain a Walk of Fame Star with a tweet aimed at the official Star Warspage. His comments garnered widespread support from Star Wars fans from around the world.
