I used to like Green Day a lot and the first CD I bought was Warning, I still think it's not a bad album, but I've changed musical tastes over the years. I don't really buy CD's anymore, only vinyls when I find myself with enough money.

The first cd I ever bought was "Unforgivable" by Weekend Nachos. I purchased a pre order bundle just to get the cd and shirt that came with it.
The first one I bought? It was probably either all of the Smashing Pumpkins albums or Radiohead's OK Computer in my mid-late teens. I was a semi-Mennonite way back then and it was the Pumpkins and Radiohead that not only convinced me that "secular" music was not evil, but also that there was subtlety in the noise. I will always remember the time listening to Bullet With Butterfly Wings and hearing the background piano for the first time. Cliche song, but to my tender ears, hearing that piano broke down a wall that I will never forget. Of course hearing the complexity of Radiohead's fantastic The Bends rocked my world.
Though, truthfully, I bought Enya's A Day Without Rain and other easy listening type stuff before those. It helped me bridge the gap between the extreme conservatism I was used to and the abrasive rock that I was destined to love.
Haha, I remember well when I bought Modest Mouse's Good News For People Who Love Bad News. It was the first album I bought that contain adult language and I felt so proud of myself for owning such an album. :D
can't remember that's for sure but it was some country music, can't remember the name of the singer. The funny thing is I don't even like country so much ;)
