Could this mean new music is imminent?

Frank Ocean has made his Instagram profile public, unveiling a secret account that he’s been posting to since May 2017.

The artist, who last released an album – ‘Blonde’ – in 2016, shared a mirror selfie yesterday (November 15) with the caption: “Welcome’.

Other photos on his @blonded account show Ocean posing with other artists including Tyler, the Creator, SZA, and Zoë Kravitz. Elsewhere, there’s snaps from his 30th birthday party and celebration photos when ‘Blonde’ went platinum.

‘Blonded Radio’, Ocean’s Beats 1 show on Apple Music, returned earlier this month after a long hiatus. He dedicated part of his show, broadcast on November 6, to encouraging people to vote in the US midterms. Those who could prove they’d voted could get some free merch.

Besides a few single releases in the past few years including ‘Chanel’ and ‘Lens’, Ocean has been quiet on the music front, though he did hint in a spread for i-D that new music is planned for 2018.

Meanwhile, Ocean said in September that he and Travis Scott had settled a cease-and-desist over Scott’s hit album ‘Astroworld’. According to TMZ, Ocean was unaware of the Autotune effects that were later applied to his voice on the track ‘Carousel’ and had then requested those effects to be removed.
