For the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, of course

Mumford and Sons have covered Ariana Grande‘s single ‘Breathin’ during their latest appearance on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.

The four-piece are currently promoting their fourth studio album ‘Delta’, which came out earlier this month.

The band stopped by the Live Lounge earlier today (November 29) to perform two tracks: ‘Delta”s lead single ‘Guiding Light’, and a cover of Grande’s ‘Breathin’, which featured on her 2018 album ‘Sweetener’. The cover saw Mumford And Sons welcome Pêtr Aleksänder and the London Contemporary Orchestra to add strings and an added sense of grandeur to the rendition.

‘Delta’ managed to miss out on the UK number one spot in the album charts last week as it was defeated by Michael Bublé’s ‘Love’.

Mumford and Sons’ UK tour was also postponed earlier this month “due to unforeseen technical and logistical challenges”. Four dates were affected by the decision, with all of those gigs now set to take place in June 2019.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, frontman Marcus Mumford said of the postponement: “We hate letting people down. It’s been gutting to move them. There’s a lot of planning that goes in, travel, hotels and stuff, and it’s the last thing we wanted to do. But we’ve rescheduled the shows in June.”
