Watch Foals’ hazy and arty new video for ‘Cafe D’Athens’
The track features on the band's recently released 'Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1' album
Foals have shared a new video for their track ‘Cafe D’Athens’. Scroll down to watch it now.
The song features on the band’s new album ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1’ album, which was released earlier this month (March 8).
The clip, which was directed by Jonny Costello and Charlotte Audrey, intersperses footage of the sky, slowly moving flowers, fireworks, and more with scenes of the band in the studio. Flashes and streaks of light move over the top of the images as they mix together.
Foals will take the new record on the road later this year, kicking off with an intimate show in Leeds before properly beginning the tour in June. The Oxford band confirmed last week (March 23) that they will be supported by Yak on the dates.
Foals will play:
May 2019
23 – Leeds, O2 Academy
June 2019
11 – Manchester, O2 Victoria Warehouse
12 – Manchester, O2 Victoria Warehouse
14 – Tunbridge Wells, Bedgebury Pinetum
15 – Birmingham, Digbeth Arena
16 – Birmingham, Digbeth Arena
18 – Glasgow, SWG3 Yard
20 – Thetford, Thetford Forest
21 – London, Alexandra Palace
22 – London, Alexandra Palace
26 – Bournemouth, International Centre
27 – Kingston, Pryzm
Meanwhile, the group’s guitarist Jimmy Smith told NME that he is working on his first solo album. The record will focus on “a Russian cosmonaut lost in space” and was inspired by the Russian space race.
“I like the imagery of the Soviet space race,” Smith said. “Something that really stuck with me is that during the space race in America, lots of monitoring stations picked up distress calls from Russian cosmonauts lost in space. They were just pleading in Russian, and that was the last anyone heard of them before they just disappeared out of the orbit. What must those people have felt like to not only be abandoned by your country, but the whole fucking planet?”
