Father John Misty surprised his fans in Belgium by briefly performing a ‘cover’ of Coldplay‘s song ‘Clocks’ – watch fan-shot footage of the moment below.

The musician, AKA Josh Tillman, is currently on tour in Europe in support of his fourth studio album under the Father John Misty name, ‘God’s Favourite Customer’.

Misty ended his 21-song set in Borgerhout, Belgium last night (November 1) with a brief rendition of ‘Clocks’. As his backing band played the track’s introduction, Misty then joined in on vocals for the verse – but, instead of singing Chris Martin’s actual vocal parts, he decided to melodically scat his way through the cover instead.

“I just wanna thank y’all for coming,” he then told the cheering audience, before quipping: “This is my walk-off music from now on.”

The moment, which took place at the De Roma venue, was captured on film by fans in the crowd.

Father John Misty will continue his European tour in Eindhoven in The Netherlands tonight (November 2).

Back in July, Misty shared the surreal visuals for his single ‘Date Night’.

The animated video, which was directed by musician Chad VanGaalen, features a series of head-spinning visuals – including a race between aliens who are texting while sat on toilets, an astronaut floating through space surrounded by bananas, and a devilish cartoon of Misty himself sipping a martini as he flies atop a devilish-winged piano.
