Watch Atoms For Peace reunite at a Thom Yorke gig in Los Angeles
Flea, Joey Waronker, Nigel Godrich and Tarik Barri all participated
Atoms For Peace briefly reunited to perform the track ‘Atoms For Peace’ from Thom Yorke’s solo album ‘The Eraser’, during the Radiohead frontman’s show last night (December 19).
Fan footage, which you can see below, sees Atoms For Peace members Flea, the bassist in Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and drummer Joey Waronker join Yorke live for the self-titled track.
Radiohead’s long-time producer Nigel Godrich, also a member of the experimental supergroup, was also in attendance, as was frequent collaborator Tarik Barri.
Godrich and Barri have been with Yorke throughout his ongoing US tour.
Atoms For Peace were formed in 2009 to perform material from Yorke’s ‘The Eraser’ album live. They subsequently released an album of their own, ‘Amok’ in 2013.
Yorke and Flea briefly reunited in 2015 to perform ‘Atoms For Peace’ live on French TV.
Yorke’s most recent release was his acclaimed soundtrack to horror remake Suspiria, which recently saw him make the shortlist for one of the musical prizes at the 2019 Oscars.
Earlier this month, Yorke released some new footage where he plays an acoustic version of ‘Open Again’ from the Suspiria soundtrack he scored earlier this year.
He released his score for Luca Guadagnino’s remake of the classic horror in October. It features 25 original compositions – with contributions from the London Contemporary Orchestra and Choir, Pasha Mansurov, and Yorke’s own son, Noah, who plays drums on two songs.
