AMERICAN boy band Why Don’t We have announced their first Australian tour.

The five piece, who are quickly filling the void left by One Direction, have already clocked up 14 million followers on social media and launched their career on You Tube.

The band, aged between 16 and 19, will play all ages shows at 170 Russell on August 29 and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on August 31.

No other Australian dates have been announced.

Tickets go on sale 10am July 5, with a pre-sale for Frontier Members starting on Monday from 5pm. Full details are available at frontiertouring.com/whydontwe
The band’s last single, Trust Fund Baby, was written for them by Ed Sheeran.

Their latest release, Hooked, has just been added to the Nova network in Australia.

Band member Jonah Marais said the tour down under came after their Australian fanbase bombarded them on Twitter.

“It’s been crazy on Twitter with Australian fans telling us we have to go there. I’ve always heard how beautiful the place is and how beautiful the people are. We’re big fans of Sia, 5 Seconds of Summer and Cody Simpson so we’re really excited to go there.”

Why Don’t We’s co-manager David Loeffler was in 90s boy band EYC.

The band’s five members are Daniel Seavey, Zach Herron, Corbyn Besson, Jonah Marais, and Jack Avery.

Special guest on the Australian tour is LA singer Eben.
