ARE THEY or aren’t they? After months of rumours and speculation about a Spice Girls reunion tour, Melanie Brown (aka Mel B) has confirmed that the popular ’90s girl group will be performing together again.

During an appearance on the Today show on Wednesday, the former Scary Spice said that the long-talked-about tour is really happening.

When host Hoda Kotb reminded Brown that one of her fellow band members, Victoria Beckham, had told Vogue magazine that they weren’t touring, Brown replied, “She’s always bloody saying that.”

Pointing into the camera, she continued: “Stop it. We ARE touring!”

“Yes, we are going to be doing performances together, for sure,” she added.

The news comes after TMZ reported back in February that the Spice Girls would be reuniting for a UK and US tour.
The gossip site announced that Mel “Scary Spice” Brown, Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham, Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton and Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm caught up with their former manager, Simon Fuller, to discuss plans for a possible “world” tour.

The rumours were further fuelled a few days later when a few of the women posted photos of them all together on social media and included captions that read “the future is looking spicy” and #friendshipneverends.

The news was promptly shut down by Victoria Beckham, who told Vogue that the tour was not going ahead.

“I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour,” she said.

“It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely.”

She reiterated that her focus was now on her fashion business.

However, in mid-February there were reports that they had signed contracts for the tour.

According to TMZ, “Mel B has signed the deal, as have others, and it spells out the specifics, including the number and location of concerts and compensation.”

Understandably, after all this fans have been left confused as to whether the tour is actually happening or not.

The Today show host was similarly perplexed and decides to confirm that what she’s hearing is true, asking Brown, “So there is a reunion, essentially?”

“Yeah, but I said that.” Brown said before laughing, “I’ve been saying it for years.”

The Spice Girls last performed together at the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, and in 2016 Mel B, Geri and Emma formed a new group called GEM to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their hit Wannabe.
