Tom Petty has something old and something pseudo-older coming.

Petty has released the song Somewhere Under Heaven from his upcoming archive album Wildflower: All the Rest.

The original Wildflowers was Petty's second solo album. Released in 1994, the album was originally intended to be a double set by Petty and producer Rick Rubin but was released as a single disc. All the Rest mines the other songs recorded between 1992 and 1994 for the album.

The track Somewhere Under Heaven was written by Petty and Mike Campbell. Here is a small bit of the song:

Petty has also announced that he will make a second album with his pre-Heartbreakers group Mudcrutch.

Mudcrutch was originally formed in 1970 by Tom Petty and Tom Leadon and included future Heartbreaker Campbell. Benmont Tench joined the band two years later.

The band signed with Shelter Records in 1974 and released one single, Depot Street. They broke up in 1975 only to be resurrected in 2007 to put out the band's first official album, Mudcrutch, the next year. A live EP was also released.

Signs of a second album first surfaced in 2013 with an expected release in late 2014. The actual recording didn't end up being scheduled until this past January and, due to Tom Leadon having a medical issue, was pushed to August
