Harry Styles is reportedly clashing with his bandmates about their "musical direction".

The star is one-fifth of boyband One Direction, alongside Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. He has seemingly adopted a rockier vibe of late, something which is far removed from the pop music the boys have become famous for.

"Harry clashes with the boys all the time about musical direction - especially Niall, who thinks he'll alienate fans with his plan to move away from pop," a source told British magazine Heat. "It's turning into a real power struggle, but Harry's so stubborn."

There has reportedly been some tension in the band for a while. It's been claimed Harry has been working on his own lyrics and is thinking about branching out on his own, and although that's been denied apparently it still irritates the others.

"There's always speculation about Harry quitting and going solo, which has totally p**sed everyone off," the insider added.

Adding to the problems is the video of Zayn and Louis which leaked earlier this year. It appeared to show the pair smoking marijuana and although the storm soon passed, it apparently left a lasting impression on Harry. He is said to worry about his bandmates not being focused enough and knows that fame can be fleeting, but his serious nature is a bone of contention within the group.

"It all started back in May, when Louis and Zayn were caught on video smoking what looked like weed and it's only got worse. Surprisingly, Harry's the sensible, level-headed one, and stuff like that really annoys him. When the band use private jets, Niall and Harry travel together," the source said.
