Steps singer Ian 'H' Watkins (pictured above) has said he is consulting his lawyers after his picture was mistakenly used in an online article about convicted paedophile, Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins (pictured below).

Entertainment website E! Online incorrectly published a photograph of the Steps singer (known to fans as H) in a story about the former Lostprophets singer, who on Wednesday pleaded guilty to 13 sexual offences, including two of attempting to rape a baby. Two female co-defendants, who cannot be named, also admitted to numerous child sex offences. Read the full story here and the further details here.

In a statement, H's management said he was "deeply upset" at being linked to the case, BBC Newsbeat reports. "Clearly he has nothing whatsoever to do with this matter and E! online has confirmed that it used a photograph of Ian "H" Watkins by mistake."

E! Online has apologised for mistakenly using a photograph of the incorrect person in the report. "E! Online deeply regrets originally publishing an image of Ian 'H' Watkins of the band Steps, rather than Ian Watkins of Lostprophets, and the error was corrected immediately," a spokeswoman said. "We are investigating the matter and will take appropriate action."

He added: "Additionally, E! Online has reached out to Ian 'H' Watkins, via his management, to apologise directly."
