Spice Girls’ manager has confirmed there’s a movie on the way
Simon Fuller revealed that there is an animated film about the band on the horizon
Spice Girls’ manager Simon Fuller has revealed there is an animated movie about the band in the works.
Speaking in a lengthy interview with Billboard, Fuller, 58, revealed that as well as their much-anticipated live return, the band will be working on an animated movie.
He said: “What’s coming next is that we are going to be doing lots of exciting things. We’ll be making an animated movie and there’s lots of exciting plans to come.”
The band announced their return the stage last year and tickets for their huge UK stadium shows went on sale in November.
However, it’s not a return of the full line up as Victoria Beckham confirmed she would not be joining the rest of her bandmates – Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell – on the huge run of shows that kick off in May.
Speaking about the return, Fuller admitted he wasn’t surprised about the huge response for the tour.
He added: “To be honest with you, while it was clearly phenomenal, they are such an awesome phenomenon I expected it.
“The last tour we did seven or eight years ago the demand was equal, if not maybe even more. It’s a global phenomenon. They’re more timely now than ever and it’s fantastic.”
It’s a big year ahead for the Spice Girls – with Mel B recently revealing that they have talked about playing Glastonbury, while they reportedly turned down an £80 million offer for a US tour.
Following the initial ticket release, Mel C tweeted to say she was “overwhelmed” with the response to the shows.
