Slowthai announces debut album and shares surreal ‘Peace Of Mind’ video
'Nothing Great About Britain' will be released later this year
Slowthai has announced his debut album and shared a surreal video for new song ‘Peace Of Mind’.
The Northampton rapper has confirmed that his first full-length record will be called ‘Nothing Great About Britain’ and will be released later this year.
It will feature the song ‘Peace Of Mind’, the visuals of which see the rising star being sucked through a hole in his bed and transported to various scenarios. In one instance Slowthai pretends to be laying face down on a rug surrounded by pills – another moment sees him hanging from a wire, acting out flying through the sky.
Slowthai recently shared his plans to tour the world and asked fans on social media to tell him where he should visit. “I wanna plan a tour in the US or Australia or wherever the fuck you all are,” he wrote, encouraging them to sign up to his newsletter so he could see where they were from.
Meanwhile, Slaves recently praised the musician after he supported them at London’s Alexandra Palace. Speaking to NME, guitarist Laurie Vincent explained they chose him to play with them because they wanted a “special main support”.
“I’ve been in the studio with him and we’ve both been keenly following Slowthai’s progress and love everything he does,” he said. “For us, there isn’t another performer who embodies the punk ‘do what I want’ ethic as much as he does. To get him supporting us just feels obvious.”
Vincent also compared him to GG Allin, “but in a more positive way.” “He’s wicked, he’s writing amazing tunes, and he threw up on stage, which is something I’ve always really wanted to do so I’m jealous.”
Slowthai will tour the UK in March and April. He will play:
March 2019
26 – Glasgow, SWG3
27 – Birmingham, O2 Institute Birmingham
28 – Manchester, O2 Ritz
29 – Bristol, SWX
31 – Brighton, Concorde 2
April 2019
1 – London, York Hall
