Shazam reveals over nine million people searched for Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato
And people are still searching for a 2017 Ed Sheeran track...
Shazam has revealed that over nine million people searched for Clean Bandit‘s ‘Solo’ this year.
The track recognition app allows people to hold a phone up to a speaker and discover the title and artist. The service was reportedly bought by Apple this year for $400 million.
The Clean Bandit song, featuring Demi Lovato, was the most-searched for track on the app this year. Cardi B appears twice in the top 10, first with her collaboration with Maroon 5, ‘Girls Like You’ and the track ‘I Like It’. Ed Sheeran‘s song ‘Perfect’ was the fifth most searched track, despite having been released in November 2017.
Shazam also revealed that Anne-Marie and Marshmello’s single ‘Friends’ was the most searched-for track in a single day, with 800,000 people ‘shazaming’ the song on April 8.
Here is the top ten most searched songs of 2018:
Clean Bandit ft. Demi Lovato – Solo
Nicky Jam and J Balvin – X
Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa – One Kiss
Dynoro and Gigi D’Agostino – In My Mind
Ed Sheeran – Perfect
Tom Walker – Leave A Light On

The popular music recognition app was launched back in 1999 and was first operated via text message. It allowed users to identify songs by listening to a short audio clip, before revealing the artist and song title.
