Grohl has also 'completely lost his voice'

Foo Fighters have been forced to reschedule a number of tour dates due to Dave Grohl suffering from illness – with the frontman joking “that’s the last time I ever make out with Bono”.

This week saw U2 frontman Bono abandon a gig after “completely losing his voice” due to illness. Now, Grohl has jokingly poked fun at the band as they themselves pull shows on their ‘Concrete & Gold‘ tour.

“After opening this leg of the tour September 1 at Safeco Field in Seattle, Dave Grohl suffered a loss of voice and is now on vocal rest,” said the band in a statement, before Grohl himself added: “That’s the last time I ever make out with Bono.”

With the show due to reconvene next week on September 8 in Vancouver, the band’s show tonight (September 4) in Edmonton at Rogers Place will now take place on October 22, while their September 6 show in Calgary at Scotiabank Saddledome has been moved to October 23.

Earlier this week, the Foos tour saw Grohl and guitarist Pat Smear reunite with their former Nirvana bandmate Pat Smear to perform a cover of The Vaselines’ ‘Molly’s Lips‘ on stage – famously one of Kurt Cobain’s songs, and recorded by the band for their b-sides and outtakes album ‘Incesticide’.
