The estate is not happy with POTUS

The estate of Prince has reportedly issued a cease and desist order to Donald Trump and The White House.

The order is said to want to stop the President of the US using the late stars song ‘Purple Rain’ at rallies. The late singer’s half-brother, Omarr Baker, has said Prince’s estate have never given permission to The White House for the song to be used.

Baker said: “The Prince Estate has never given permission to President Trump or the White House to use Prince’s songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately.”

It comes after the President’s team included Prince’s song in a campaign rally playlist in preparation for the November midterm elections. At a rally held in Mississippi last week, the song was used and reportedly prompted Prince’s estate to respond.

Other artists who have spoken against their music being used at Republican rallies include The Rolling Stones, Adele, Queen, Aerosmith, R.E.M. and Neil Young.

Earlier this week (October 11), the President met Kanye West at The White House, with West once again publicly supporting Trump. It came just over a week after the rapper’s appearance on SNL where he delivered a pro-Trump speech at the end of the show.

West – who was wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat during his visit to see the president – said the hat “made me feel like Superman”. West met Trump in the Oval Office of The White House, with a televised sit-down between the rapper, the President and the former NFL player Jim Brown taking place prior to a working lunch which was set to focus on such topics as urban revitalisation, new workforce training programs and more.

The visit has promoted a host of criticism from other stars. Rapper T.I said the visit was “repulsive, disgraceful and embarrassing.”
