Pitbull will make his presence felt at the American Music Awards, again. The high-profile rapper will host the Nov. 23 ceremony, and he’ll perform a song from his upcoming album release Globalization.

"World, who would have thought Pitbull hosting the AMAs two years in a row," said Armando Christian Perez, better known by his Pitbull stage name, in a statement. "The harder I work, the luckier I get. Thank you ABC and dick clark productions for the amazing opportunity -- more than anything let's get ready to have fun. Dale!"

Pitbull and Charli XCX are the first confirmed performers for the big show, though additional artists and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks, organizers say.

The Pitbull-hosted 2013 American Music Awards was a ratings success. That event attracted 12.93 million total viewers, the best result in four years.

“Pitbull is a global superstar and multi-talented powerhouse, who delivered one of the most exciting shows in American Music Awards history when he hosted in 2013. This year will be no different,” said legendary American Music Awards producer Larry Klein. “We’re working together to create elements of the show that will wow audiences and take the night to a whole new level.”

As previously reported, Iggy Azalea has six nominations for the 2014 American Music Awards, just ahead of John Legend, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams with five nominations each. Lorde is up for four awards.

The ceremony, considered to be the world’s biggest fan-voted award show, will be broadcast live from L.A.’s Nokia Theatre. ABC will air the broadcast live from 8 p.m. ET.

AMA nominees are based on key fan interactions as reflected in Billboard Magazine and on Billboard.com, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, streaming and social activity. These measurements are tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Entertainment and Next Big Sound.

Fans can vote once per day at the Coca-Cola AMA voting site, AMAvote.com and they can lodge one each day via Twitter by including the nominee’s name, category name and #AMAs in a tweet.

For the 6th successive year, the “Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! @ The 2014 AMAs” pre-show will precede the big show. Live coverage will stream online from 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 23 at Yahoo Live, TheAMAs.com and ABC.com.

The 2014 American Music Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions. Allen Shapiro and Mike Mahan are executive producers. Barry Adelman and Mark Bracco join Klein as producers.
