Despite having ranked on the Billboard Artist 100 for all 32 weeks of the chart's existence, Katy Perry reaches a new peak this week, flying 12-6. Her vault is no surprise, given she claimed two of the most high-profile live performances an artist can make: the Super Bowl halftime show and the Grammy Awards.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift remains atop the chart for a record-extending 16th week.

The Artist 100 is the first weekly ranking dedicated to measuring artist activity across Billboard's most influential charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, Top Album Sales and the Social 50. The Artist 100 blends data measuring album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.

Perry scores her highest rank on the Artist 100, and returns to the top 10 for the first time since Sept. 27, up 38 percent in activity. After she headlined the Super Bowl halftime show (Feb. 1) and sang PRISM album cut "By the Grace of God" at the Grammys (8), she soars by 106 percent in digital song sales, 63 percent in streaming and 38 percent in album sales, with digital song sales accounting for the largest slice of her activity (31 percent).

Atop the Artist 100, Swift reigns for a 16th week despite a 4 percent drop. She narrowly fends off Ed Sheeran (2-2; up 10 percent), who, like Perry, performed at the Grammy Awards. Sam Smith, who collected four Grammy Awards and performed at the festivities, rises 4-3 (up 16 percent), followed by Maroon 5 (5-4) and Meghan Trainor (3-5).

In other Artist 100 highlights, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Grateful Dead make their first appearance on the chart, debuting at No. 84. The group arrives thanks to 15,000 units sold, according to Nielsen Music, for Dave's Picks, Volume 13: Winterland, San Francisco, CA-2/24/74, which enters Top Album Sales at No. 21; the sum is the band's best since September 2013 and was generated solely by Internet and mail-order sales through the group's official website.

The new set is the band's 66th entry on the Billboard 200 (No. 32), dating to its first in 1967, and the 10th charted title in the Dave's Picks series, which revives classic performances hand-picked by Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux.

Among other debuts on the Artist 100, Robin Schulz bows at No. 93, driven largely by the success of his single "Prayer in C" with Lillywood. The German DJ/producer enters with the majority (43 percent) of his chart points from radio airplay, as the collab pushes 14-13 on Radio Songs with a 7 percent increase to 56 million in all-format audience. It also crowns Dance/Mix Show Airplay (2-1). Digital song sales follow (35 percent), with the track up by 14 percent to 40,000 sold; "Prayer" bullets at No. 32 on Digital Songs and leads Dance/Electronic Digital Songs for a second week. It concurrently spends week at No. 1 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs. On the Hot 100, "Prayer" rises 33-30.
