People can’t work out whether to pronounce the new iPhone XS as ‘INXS’ or ‘tennis’
Did Apple miss a trick with the soundtrack?
Last night saw the launch of the new iPhone XS – but it left many people curious as to how to pronounce it.
After the latest Apple product was unveiled in both iPhone XS and XS Max formats, many people took to social media to discuss whether they should be pronouncing the ‘Ten S’ as ‘tennis’ or ‘INXS‘, in honour of the Australian rock veterans.
This comes after Courtney Barnett covered the INXS classic ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ for the iPhone X advert earlier this year.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Apple will no longer include dongles free of charge with new iPhones.
The adapter was introduced in 2016 with the iPhone 7 when the headphone jack was removed from the device. It makes it possible to connect traditional headphones to the smartphones.
The change will come into play with the new generation of iPhones, which were launched today and include the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR, as The Verge reports. Dongles will not be provided with iPhones 8 going forward either. Customers will now have to purchase them separately at an additional cost of £9.
iPhones that still feature traditional headphone jacks – the iPhone X, 6S, and SE – will also be discontinued.
