Film crews were spotted close to the Beatles legend's former home

Film crews spotted in Liverpool close to Paul McCartney’s childhood home have sparked rumours that the former Beatles legend is filming his new music video in the city.

According to The Liverpool Echo, film crews were spotted in Garston, Liverpool, near the town’s leisure centre which is near to where the Beatles legend grew up.

McCartney revisited the area and his childhood home recently as part of an episode of Carpool Karaoke with James Corden.

Film crews were also spotted in Liverpool on Inwood Road and Garston Park with shops in the area also being covered up for filming.

Meanwhile, speculation was rife on Twitter that the film crews were there for McCartney’s new video.

McCartney has returned to his hometown frequently in recent weeks as part of the promotion for his upcoming album, ‘Egypt Station’.

As well as filming an episode of Carpool Karaoke, the singer took part in a Q&A with Jarvis Cocker at LIPA – the performing arts school he founded – and performed a secret gig at the Cavern Club.

Speaking about the gig, NME said: “for nearly two hours, McCartney has had one drink of water and one towel-off. He’s played a gig in the sweatiest, tiniest room possible…Paul McCartney heads on stage like he’s got something to prove, every time, even here at The Cavern. He only proves one thing: we’ll never see another like him.”

Earlier this week, McCartney released the full track listing for his new album, out on September 7. The track list in full is:
