A possible new Blake album was briefly listed on the French Amazon site before being deleted

A snippet of new music from James Blake has arrived online, amid rumours that he could be set to release his next solo project later this month, according to a new online listing.

Blake’s last solo record arrived back in May 2016 with ‘The Colour in Anything’. Three non-album singles – ‘Vincent’, ‘If the Car Beside You Moves Ahead’ and ‘Don’t Miss It’ – have emerged since then, with fans hoping that 2019 will herald a new full-length project from the 30-year-old.

Now, the website AssumeForm.com has emerged, sparking speculation that it’s the name of his new album. Upon visiting the site, visitors are met with an ambient sound which plays on loop. It’s thought that this could be the first snippet of new material from the producer.

The rumours have also been heightened by a projection spotted at Lomdon’s Shoreditch High Street Overground Station – featuring the AssumeForm name.

A deleted listing on the French Amazon website previously appeared to suggest that Blake’s next album will arrive later this month and that it will indeed be called ‘Assume Form’ [via Reddit]. The listing appeared to claim that the likes of Travis Scott, Rosalia, Metro Boomin, Moses Sumney and Andre 3000 will all feature on Blake’s new project.

‘Assume Form’ was also listed for release on January 25 – see the purported tracklist for the project below.

NME have contacted Blake’s representatives for further comment.

Back in July, Blake spoke candidly about his own experience with depression and anxiety, revealing that he experienced “suicidal thoughts” during his early tours.
