Myers famously used the track in the opening of 'Wayne's World'

Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody was released this week (October 24) and cinema-goers are reacting to the cameo of Wayne’s World actor Mike Myers.

Myers famously used the iconic track of the same name during the opening of his 1992 film, which saw Wayne and his friends head-banging to it in their car. The song’s inclusion in the film caused it to return to the chart at number two in 1992.

The actor bagged himself a part in this year’s movie, playing EMI Executive Ray Foster. With curly hair, sunglasses and a beard, the actor is unrecognisable but what most fans are noticing is his reference to the iconic Wayne’s World intro.

“No-one is going to be head-banging in the car to Bohemian Rhapsody,” he’s heard saying. You can see Myers’ blink-and-you’ll-miss-it spot in the Bohemian Rhapsody trailer below.

Film fans are sharing their thoughts on the cameo, with one writing: “who would’ve thought that mike myers would’ve gone from singing bohemian rhapsody in wayne’s world to being IN BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY.”

Another added: “Also was crying laughing when Mike Myers character said that teenagers wouldn’t listen to bohemian rhapsody in the car was that a reference to Wayne’s World?”

However, some felt the scene was a little too predictable. “Mike Myers’ cameo is a little too on the nose,” one tweeted with another adding: “The part of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY with Mike Myers is the worst scene in any movie this year. Like, Myers’ beard is about the 10th-worst thing about it.”

Meanwhile, Queen’s Roger Taylor has opened up on why Sacha Baron Cohen was dropped from playing Freddie Mercury in the movie.

Baron Cohen had been set to star as Mercury when the film was announced in September 2010 but in the summer of 2013 he pulled out of the project.

“There was a lot of talk about Sacha and stuff. It was never really on,” he told the Associated Press. “I don’t think he took it seriously enough — didn’t take Freddie seriously enough. But I think, really, it’s a long road, but we’re at the end of it now.”
