Migos Rapper Offset Free From Jail

Migos MC Offset has been released from jail in Georgia, Billboard has confirmed. The Atlanta rapper has been behind bars for eight months after he, his fellow Migos member Quavo and Quality Control MC Rich The Kid were arrested following a performance at Georgia Southern University on Apr. 18.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, was initally charged with two felonies including possession of a firearm by convicted felon and carrying a weapon in a school zone, as well as two misdemeanors including marijuana less than an ounce, possession of a schedule II controlled substance. Quavo was released on $10,000 bond days later and Rich The Kid was released a few weeks after that, but Offset was denied bond due to prior convictions.

While he was behind bars, Offset was also hit with additional charges stemming from a fight that escalated into a brawl, leading to battery and riot counts against him. Over the eight months, he had been denied bond at least three times, and Migos was forced to postpone their Yung Rich Nation tour with OG Maco from May until July. The group's debut album, Yung Rich Nation, came out July 31 after a string of successful mixtapes, debuting and peaking at No. 17 on the Billboard 200.
