Meat Loaf secretly plotting huge world tour

SUPERSTAR Meat Loaf is planning a full world tour — but he will not sing a single song.

The musician, 70, has made secret plans to take his huge back catalogue of hits on the road in a show called Back Out Of Hell.

But Caleb Johnson, 27, who won American Idol in 2014, will perform instead of the legendary hitmaker because of concerns over his voice.

A music source said: “Meat Loaf is concerned he isn’t up to some of the bigger numbers after losing his voice a couple of years ago.

“He’s been relying on pre-recorded vocal tracks for a while but doesn’t want to face accusations of miming on a huge tour, so is passing the baton on to Caleb, who he’s a big fan of.

“Instead his involvement will be telling stories of how he met Jim Steinman, who he’s worked with since the Seventies, and other anecdotes. But the singing will be left to Caleb.

“It’s going to have a feel of Stars In Their Eyes to it.”

Plans for the tour, which will be international but will only run for a limited number of shows, are set to be unveiled in the coming days.

The singer, real name Marvin Lee Aday, is hopeful he can take it to Las Vegas as a residency if it’s a success.

The source added: “He has a really committed core fanbase who often put up with his weird and wonderful ways. But them paying to see someone else sing his hits might be a step too far.”
