They’ll joining the previously-announced likes of The Cure, Bon Iver, Noel Gallagher, Smashing Pumpkins, Vampire Weekend, The National, Wolfmother, Greta Van Fleet, Mogwai, Teenage Fanclub, The Twilight Sad and The 1975 – with plenty more acts to be announced in the months ahead.

The bill also features acts to showcase the best of rising Spanish-speaking talent.

MITÚ
“Colombia’s MITÚ is a Psychedelic Techno From The Jungle live act duo formed by Julián Salazar on synths and percussionist Franklin Tejedor. Taking full advantage of what roots and electronica together can accomplish, its sound emerges from the the infinite variations that equipment allows yet it is nurtured by the deep wellspring of a centuries- old music. In an act of musical Afrofuturism, MITÚ travels to the Palenque of the future – a walled refuge where, free of constraints, two artists create a new language to speak to each other and through it are able to express an astounding range of emotions.”

DELAPORTE
“Delaporte is a Spanish-Italian electronic music band based in Madrid, created by Sandra Delaporte and Sergio Salvi. Both come from a strong background in Madrid’s funk, soul, R&B, and jazz scenes, and together they’ve decided to carve out their own path in the music world. After their first EPs, ‘#ONE’ and ‘#UNO’, they started infusing their electronic textures with tribal sounds. Now they’ve got a new record cooking, called ‘Como Anoche’.”

DOBLECAPA
“From the first note of ‘Suave con la canoa’, their first album, DobleCapa show their credentials: blues, stoner, punk and a scorching live are the cover letter of this Madrid duo that is revolutionizing the Spanish underground with their bowling, mileage super sound. The mathematical and always forceful drumming of Arianne contrasts with the vintage sonority of the Mario’s cigarbox, taking you from the desert blues to an inspiring punk in a matter of minutes. His imminent new work has been recorded in Chicago with Steve Albini (producer of Pixies, Nirvana, PJ Harvey). A band as simple as incendiary.”

This week also saw Mad Cool Festival rank among the top five of the official ‘Save The Date’ 100 reasons to visit Madrid in 2019 – hailing it as “one of the world’s most important festivals”.

After winning the NME Festival Award for Best Line-up, last year’s acclaimed event featured the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Queens Of The Stone Age, Jack White, Nine Inch Nails, Dua Lipa, Depeche Mode, Pearl Jam and many more.

Mad Cool Festival 2019 will take place in Madrid from July 11-13. Visit here for tickets and more information.
