"Don't steal – not from women or anyone else – not in 2018 or ever"

Lorde has accused Kanye West and Kid Cudi of ‘stealing’ her idea of utilising a floating perspex box for a live show for their Kids See Ghosts production.

The rappers played Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles this weekend, which is curated by Tyler, the Creator. In support of their acclaimed self-titled collaborative album, Kids See Ghosts’ first public live performance saw them play from within a suspended perspex box – which Lorde noticed had a very similar resemblance to that of her 2017 festival tour.

Taking to her Instagram story, Lorde shared photos comparing the two sets before writing: “I’m proud of the work I do, and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves.

“But don’t steal – not from women or anyone else – not in 2018 or ever.”

Kids See Ghosts are yet to respond to Lorde’s comments. This comes after Lorde honoured Kanye by covering two of his tracks when performing in his hometown of Chicago.

Lorde recently made headlines after a court in Israel has ordered two women from New Zealand to pay damages after they harmed the “artistic welfare” of three teenagers when the artist cancelled a planned show in Tel Aviv.

She is currently said to be at work on her third album.
