It's taken from the band's upcoming fifth album

Beck and Cage The Elephant have shared their collaboration, ‘Night Running’.

The track, which features on Cage The Elephant’s forthcoming album ‘Social Cues’, is a dub-inflected jam that hears Beck open the verses before singer Matt Shultz joins in on the chorus.

The release follows ‘Ready to Let Go’ and ‘House of Glass’, taken from the band’s fifth studio album that drops on April 19 ahead of their US co-headline tour with Beck this summer.

Frontman Shultz spoke to NME about the band’s ‘Night Running’ collaboration with Beck last month. “We’d found a really great direction for the chorus but it was one of those songs where I was just stumped on the directions for the verses,” he said. “We were talking about how to finish the song and Brad [Shultz, guitarist] was like, ‘For some reason, I feel like Beck would know.’

“Brad had the song sent to Beck and it was insane – maybe within 24 to 48 hours he’d already sent back two verses and said he had four other options. We were like, ‘Oh wow, this is pretty nice. You’re an amazing talent.’ Of course he is!”

Beck and Cage The Elephant’s tour features support from Spoon throughout. Starcrawler, Sunflower Bean, and Wilde Belle play select dates.
