"Ye it’s probably time to revisit this one"

Talib Kweli has shared a preview of a song with Kanye West that sees them decrying white nationalism, days after Kanye distanced himself from politics.

After meeting Donald Trump last month, Kanye made an surprise U Turn earlier this week when he vowed to avoid political intervention in the future.

“My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative!!!”, he wrote at the time.

“I support creating jobs and opportunities for people who need them the most, I support prison reform, I support common-sense gun laws that will make our world safer. I support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable. I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war.”

Now, it seems like Kanye’s apparent disavowal of right wing politics has received the backing of Talib Kweli – who shared a clip of the pair recording together earlier this year.

In the clip, Kweli is seen denouncing white nationalism, as well as referencing the August 2017 rally in Charlotesville that killed Heather Heyer.

“Me and @kanyewest started an album together last January. That same month Candace Owens trolled me on twitter and her followers called me all types of n*****s and monkeys for months,” he wrote.

“Hey Ye it’s probably time to revisit this one… lyrics are timely AF. Welcome back.”

In the wake of Kanye’s comments on Tuesday, he immediately went on a following spree that saw him following a series of unlikely accounts including that of Green Party leader Caroline Lucas.
