LFO’s Devin Lima has died, aged 41
The singer was diagnosed with stage four adrenal cancer earlier last year
LFO member Devin Lima has died after a battle with cancer, it has been confirmed.
The singer, whose real name was Harold Lima, was diagnosed with stage four adrenal cancer in October 2017 and underwent surgery to have a tumour removed from his adrenal gland, and had one kidney removed. Lima died today (November 21). He was 41-years-old.
Lima’s mother Filomena confirmed his death to Us Weekly. “My son has passed away,” she said. “His fiancée was living with him and let us know that he passed at 2:45 in the morning. He was struggling for 13 months since his cancer diagnosis. The family is not good.”
LFO, also known as Lyte Funkie Ones, formed in Massachusetts in 1995. They were best known for their 1999 single ‘Summer Girls’, and other hits including ‘Girls On TV’ and ‘Every Other Time’. They split in 2002 but briefly reunited in 2009.
“We’re sincerely thankful and excited to have the opportunity to create new music and tour again,” Fischetti said at the time. “We miss the presence of our late great brother, bandmate Rich Cronin. We will do our best to make him proud, carry on his legacy, and to usher LFO into the future.”
