Lena Dunham has rewritten a One Direction song after Niall Horan complimented her show Girls.
The 22-year-old Irish singer tweeted, "@girlsHBO absolutely hilarious. Love your work," to say how much he loved the show and it caught the eye of its creator Lena.
The actress returned the compliment three days later on Instagram with the same quick wit she is famous for onscreen, adapting the lyrics of One Direction song Perfect.
"But if you like having panic attacks up in hotel rooms. And if you like a lot of complex fear stuff around men and sex. If you like to do the things you're too ashamed to admit to anyone but your therapist. Then baby, I'm perfect," she quipped in reply. The real lyrics are: "And if you like midnight driving with the windows down. And if you like going places we can’t even pronounce. If you like to do whatever you've been dreaming about. Then baby, you're perfect."
Perfect was written by bandmates Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson and taken from their last studio album Made in the A.M. It reached the top 10 in several countries, including the U.K., U.S., France, and reached the number one spot in Niall's native Ireland.
The 29-year-old actress, who is currently starring in the fifth season of Girls, recently shocked fans by announcing that the sixth season of the drama would be the last, with filming set to get underway this summer (16).
No stranger to using social media to reach out to fellow celebrities, the star recently complimented fellow Girls actress Allison Williams on Instagram after the star said the Girl's crew were like "family". Lena responded "Al. You are, quite simply, my sister," in the heartfelt reply.
The fifth season of Girls began airing on Sunday nights in the U.S. in February (16).
