Between her dive bar tour stop at her old haunt, the Bitter End, and a surprise swing through her family's restaurant, Lady Gaga's definitely making a point to embrace her roots for the drop of her new record.

On October 20, Gaga took over the West Village venue — one she frequented as an up-and-coming songwriter back before she made her big-time debut with The Fame — to play through songs off Joanne as a part of her dive bar tour. The following evening, she opted to spend the night of her record release as close to home as she could get: She took over her dad's restaurant, which is also named for his late sister, Joanne, to work her bartender skills, sign copies of the album, and greet her fans.

As soon as the word got out, Monsters flocked to the Upper West Side eatery, and Gaga rolled in sporting another pink ensemble (but one that was a little less Carmen Sandiego and a little more haute couture).

She was beaming on her way into the restaurant, and the positive vibes definitely kept up over the course of the evening.

It's one thing to head home for the weekend, but to head home, play one of the venues that offered you your shot at living the dream, and get to share a meal with your loved ones? That's just how Gaga rolls.
