Katy Perry has called out the media for publishing a 'really inappropriate' interview with her.

Australia's The Daily Telegraph put out a Q&A article on Saturday May 23, which sees journalist Chris Knowles asking the Dark Horse songstress questions about her divorce from comedian Russell Brand.

But on Monday Katy slammed the outlet and the reporter for the piece, claiming it's way past due.

'It's really inappropriate when journalists repurpose interviews done 3 yrs ago in context of promoting a film & then stamp a new date on it (sic),' she wrote on her Twitter account.

Katy made it clear exactly who and what she was referring to in her subsequent tweet. Opening the message with an image of a large pair of eyes, she closed it out with a thumbs down emoji, writing in the caption: 'The Daily Telegraph & Chris Knowles'.

The 39-year-old British comedian announced plans to end his marriage with the 30-year-old Hot N Cold songstress on December 30, 2011, just 14 months after they tied the knot.

And in journalist Chris' interview published in The Daily Telegraph last weekend, Katy disclosed personal information about how often she and ex-husband Russell interact.

'He hasn't spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce,' she revealed in Chris' article.

Clearly, should this interview have been conducted three years ago, the information about Katy's relationship with her former spouse might be outdated.

The pop star's divorce from Russell was finalised in July 2012.
