"I've been calling Colin this morning"

Kanye West says that he’s reached out to Colin Kaepernick in a bid to bring him to the White House for a special meeting with Donald Trump.

West revealed the news during ‘TMZ Live’ on Monday (October 1), saying that he hopes the two sides will meet and work out their issues.

Trump was critical of Kaepernick and his fellow NFL players when a number of them refused to stand for the US national anthem in 2016.

The US president advised NFL owners to fire all of the “sons of bitches” who kneeled in protest regarding police brutality against black people.

West did not say if either side was open to the idea of a meeting.

The American rapper, who announced recently that he is to now be known as ‘Ye’, spoke to TMZ’s Harvey Levin in an interview that will air in full on Monday (October 8) .

West discussed a range of topics in the interview including the 13th Amendment, which he recently said should be abolished, as well as his new album, ‘Yandhi’.

Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey hit out at West after he reiterated his support for Donald Trump.

Commenting on a new picture that rapper posted of himself wearing a Make America Great Again hat, the star wrote: “Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but your support of him is a loss for the culture.”
