Janet Jackson has announced the first dates of her Unbreakable tour.

The 49-year-old singer revealed last month that she would be releasing a new album, seven years after her last record. And today the star unveiled the North American leg of her new tour.

The concerts kick off in Vancouver, Canada, on August 31 before making stops through the country until she reaches Toronto on September 15. Then the singer heads into the United States, beginning in North Carolina and taking in places like Miami, Memphis and Las Vegas before ending the run in Honolulu, Hawaii in November.

The Unbreakable World Tour is Janet's first set of concerts since her Number Ones greatest hits tour in 2011.

Her upcoming album is her first since 2008's Discipline. It's a busy time for Janet, as she is also setting up her own record label named Rhythm Nation after her 1989 album Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814.

Tickets for Unbreakable go on sale on June 22 via Ticketmaster outlets and online at livenation.com. Prices range from $45 to $250 each with European and the rest of the world dates set to follow.

In the first official poster to promote the concerts, Janet can be seen in profile wearing a black trilby hat dipped over one eye. She sports a head of long white blonde hair and a sequin top in the black and white shot, with her eye shut and mouth open in an excited smile.
