"She’s so, so unbelievably happy"

Ariana Grande‘s brother has praised the pop star for delivering a “powerful” and “confident” message with her new single ‘Thank U, Next’.

The ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ singer released the surprise track last weekend, after teasing it on social media. The song references Grande’s ex-partners, including Mac Miller. “Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm / ’cause he was an angel,” Grande sings of the late rapper.

Now, Grande’s brother has said that he cried after listening to the single’s poignant lyrics – adding that the star is “unbelievably happy” following its release.

“I am unbelievably proud of my sister,” Frankie Grande told E! News. “This project that she has been working on, it’s from the heart. If you listen to the lyrics… I sobbed and I cried the first time she played it for me.”

The reality star said that the line “…this one gon’ last, ’cause her name is Ari” left him particularly emotional, “because it’s a message of self-love”. “And if you don’t put yourself first, then no other relationship matters, and no other relationship is going to work.

He added: “We are happy that she is happy, and the message is just so powerful. It’s helping other people, too. Like, she’s helping other people get through difficult times and difficult breakups. I think that that’s really the best part about this whole thing: being able to help another person.”

Frankie Grande said that the star is “so, so unbelievably happy” and “so pleased” with fans’ reaction to the track.
